every time i go on to my laptop and try to open
my google search page it takes forever to open
and then when it does i get bombarded with either
blank pages or internet explorer cannot find page or
your computer shows traces of illegal adult porn sites.
download malware or antivirus to protect your computer
or shopping pages just keep poping up..
can anybody tell me how to stop this ...cause its
doing my head in

how do mate. it sounds like your browser has been hijacked. you didnt say what anti virus or spyware program you currently use as this should have picked it up on a full scan. if you have a spyware program then run a full scan "now" or it could end up ruining your system. if you dont have any protection then go to freeware http://www.freewarefiles.com/ and download the following "now". spyware terminator. get this first, it has a good anti spyware scanner and you can adjust the settings to include a virus protection aswell. do a complete scan and it should remove this. then activate its spyware shield. then download avast 4.8 as its one of the best free av programs available. both are available from the link above and are free. you will have to register avast after you install it. once you have done this post a msg and let me know how you get on. .

i only have windows defender i did a scan with this
and it said no harmful software detected..
would you recomend i still do what you said to do in your
post

windows defender is useless im afraid mate. it dosent give proper defence and is crap at solving problems. i had this problem before aswell. download spyware terminator and activate its virus protection in its settings. it will take time to run a full scan but it should eliminate this problem ..then post back how you get on . terminator is available on afterdawn i think under desktop security.. good luck.

spyware terminator was usless it made it worse it downloaded
a crawler toolbar aswell my laptop was even slower.. and those
anti virus pop ups just would not stop. i nearly through it
out the window..i downloaded norton and at last i have my laptop
back runing the way it was when i got it ...thanks for yuor help
anyway mate..

sorry it didnt help mate. i should have also mentioned a-square. to be fair to norton it is usually very good but a bit intrusive and uses a lot of power. when i stopped using norton i ran into problems aswell so i use avast which is owned by norton now but not as good. anyway good luck .
