Does anybody know if Intel is planning to cut prices on any of the Core 2 Extreme processors (QX9650, QX6850, QX9770, etc.)? I tried searching on google, but I am not sure exactly what terms to search for.

Potentially, but the most likely form of a price cut is that something new will come out and they won't be 'extreme' any more. Extreme CPUs always carry monumental price tags. Usually you're better off buying the one-down and overclocking it. Even my cheap E4300 can beat an X6800 in pretty much all tests, and I paid £105 for it when the X6800s were £600.
