Hello people! As many others I've recently grown tired of converting every damn PSP movie I wanted to see. Now I've decided to try and find some homebrew to fix my problem, but sort-of failed.
I've found and tried two progs:
1) PMPMOD
2) PsPlayerMT
PMPMOD wouldn't even load anything, the program itself ran, but couldn't find my video's.
PsPlayerMT did see my video's, but couldn't load most of them (Yes, they were AVI's of a proper resolution (320x240)) and when it did, I wasn't impressed with the quality (choppy).
So, who can tell me more about this, is it possible to view other video formats (non-MPEG4) on the PsP without having to convert? Thanks in advance!
the only one ic can think of is psptube that plays .flv fine no problems.
what bit rate did you set the avi for use with psplayer because if it was over 512 the it will take ages to load and will stutter. also was the audio ac3 or mp3 if ac3 i dont think it will play.
as for the other program well iv never used it before so i cant tell you how to get the best out of it.
Thing is, I don't want to have to convert the files; I have no idea what bitrate the files are at. Psptube.. well, flv files aren't used *that* much, but thanks for the tip none the less. Anyone else got some ideas?
bit rate is the amount of bits stores per second with media.
to give you an example dvd with have a bit rate of 5000kbs which would be about 600000kb for a 2 hour video (6gb) but the lower the bit rate the worse the quality.
if you have a film on your pc which is about 1gb its likly to be set at 700 - 1200kbs which is still very high. if you wanted good quality for the psp and save space id suggest 512kbs which will work with psplayer better than files with a 700 - 1200kbs bit rate (they will lag as well) so use super video converter to down the quality and size (its free as well) and see if that sorts it out.
as for flv well that youtube and all that lot so use firefox or real player to download the direct in flv format tand then use psptube to play them. the quality is not as good as avi but some stuff is ok.
hope that all helps
sorry if iv got the hole bit rate thing wrong but i think thats how it works.
you're not far off, but I never said I didn't understand bitrate, I just said that I don't know at what bitrates the video's I have run. Surely, not that high, I usually use 512~768.
sorry thats me not reading i through lol. yer if its of a torrent then it likly to be about 700+ if it from dvd check on the dvd ripper there should be something there for the bit rate. im not to sure how to check it on the computer normaly (only shows audio bit rate in (properties).
apart from psplayer i dont think there is any thing that will play avi files. hopefuly one of these day m33 my include it lol dont think so though
yer only mp4 is supported like with all sony products. i usally convert them or put them on my archos 704 but if you do really want to play them use super converter to covert x foemat to mp4 and its free or there is pspvideo9(never got it to work) and some other free ones . i you want to pay for one that converts about everything try xilisoft video converter its what i use and with all of them you can change the bit rate and other settings
