I am trying to build a slide show. Nero (which I have been using for years) does not make this easy. Roxio, I think, is probably better but I have Nero <sigh>. Anyway, I take pictures with a digital camera that also will take little movies. If I create a movie it will take the photoes and the little movies with no problem. I cannot insert background music but can record commentary. I do, however, lose control over how long pictures display, length of transitions, etc.

If I create a slideshow, as a slideshow, I get control of length of display, etc. I can also insert background AND record commentary. I have also noticed a capacity for the program, in this mode, to lose its way and suddenly 200 photos will consume 5000 hours (really!)

Navigation, under either system, is a serious problem. If there are, for instance, 300 pictures, there are simply no reasonable functions to browse. In my case I like to do this, for instance, to move background music out of the little movies from the camera.

As long as I am whining I guess I should also mention their menu system. I have read the documentation, followed whatever direction there is (minimal) and it still confuses the hell out of me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. When dealing with Nero it would seem that doing exactly the same thing, again and again, and expecting different results, successfully, is a simple fact of life rather than a description of mental problems. Go figure!

I will work through this and this is more of a bitch to make myself feel better as dealing with nero is sometimes a real bitch. They keep on adding stuff but don't seem to be competent to maintain their own stuff. It must be programmer heaven as they sure are not listening to users.

I will take a look. I just get tired of trying software. This is especially true when you have Nero doing battle with EVERYBODY which also means that their software conflicts with EVERYBODY. This is clever of them as it also means its more difficult to test others with their system installed as that seems to wreck their system and then comes the clean up which is yet another little battle even with their 'special' removal tool.

i hear ya on that "removal tool" why cant they install it as the uninstall in the app in the first place.

its prolly the software / updates arnt bug free...

if they concentrated on making a single good app instead of 20 all in one that may help.

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

No fooling! I complained to them about all of this. They didn't even bother to read the message - just replied with a form letter. Writing to nero support is a little like writing to one of my elected. The responses are ALWAYS a crap shoot and rarely has much to do with the subject.
