Hi, I am looking to build a pc for personal internet use and then for ecoding and editing video. Also work in after effects, boris red, photoshop etc...
So I am assuming the Intel 6700 which has disappeared from newegg overnight on me... or this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115043
So I am looking for input on the rest, should I go with the 8800gts? Which board? Which case? how big of a power supply should work.
Just let me know any info you have. I am trying to get a price together. Again, I am going to use this for my personal use like everyone else but also to encode HD videos and Edit and composite in HD.
Let me know.

thanks man.
Is there an intel board I can use. I have always used intel boards and have never had to replace one or had a single problem!
I am not afraid to spend a little more for parts if the quality is there and I plan to use 4 gb to get the most out of it...3.5 is all it uses I know for this setup.
I am really looking to be able to really encode and render video efficiently and do everything else. I dont play games but could in the future.

The components krj posted are fine except for the power supply, which is ludicrously high wattage, since this PC will only be using 300W at most. You can save money and go with this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004
I'd also recommend using this graphics card instead of the EVGA one krj posted:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...4150267
SO sam do you recommend all those components. IS there a motherboard with more pci slots that is an equal? I am going to install a sound card, firewire card and I have an hdtuner card that takes a pci slot also, I am worried they will not all fit on that board.
Plus is that memory of good quality?

you will be able to fit all your cards onto the mobo. the memory i posted is a nice brand with high quality parts. it is not the best for overclocking but it gets the job done. the reason i chose the 750watt psu was because the price difference between it and the other corsair psu's are not much. it was only $5 more than the modular and $30 more than the 550watt and it will be future proof. but yes the 550watt sam posted will do just fine.

no because the q6600 is cheaper and can overclock really well. with good cooling you can overclock it to 3.4-3.6. so get the q6600 and a good heat sink. i don't really know to much about sound cards but maby sam can recommend one.

Thanks guys. I thought I read in the reviews that board didnt have firewire and needed a card. That is very good if it doesnt, I also have a capture device that is pci so I need a slot for that too.
I think I should be ok. Sound card, capture Device and HD tuner card in pci and the graphics card in the express.
I have never overclocked a card before so as long as it is stable I am cool witht that.
