Hey guys, I need to know if there is a boot disk out there that will boot ps2 and 3 game consoles??? I have tried to look up some tutorial and review articles but it does seem that everything that I run across is outdated! I have heard about swap magic and cogswap! However,I don't know that much about either! I do have access to alcohol 120, dvd decryptor, and a few others as far as copying software. I have a 9 year old son and we want to backup all of his games before it is to late. We are also going to be purchasing a ps3 so I want to go with the most updated info and method of backing up the games and booting the consoles. It would be great if some nice person would touch on each of the subjects above as I am completely new to the gameing backup. I do alot of dvd and PC but not games! I am quite computer literate as well as electronic. I am an electronics engineer by trade. Before you reply I want to stay AWAY from mod chips! I am intrested in souly the boot methode if at all possible!

If it is true that there is no method of booting ps3 backups,then what is the most current and reliable boot disk for ps2? Also what is the most current and reliable software for creating backups?--------------------------------------------------------------------------------I am not some young teenager bleeding for information, It just seems like all the information I find is out dated and unknown for the reliability! I am not a big gamer myself so I dont know all the popular forums or sites for this type discussion. It may be great for a few links if someone don't want to post a lengthly reply. I want the most current talk and methodes if you all don't mind.

THIS is probably the only way to play ps2 backups on the ps3, as of now.

the most reliable program to backup, and is free, is imgburn. very simple to use.
