Hi, I've recently installed a Flip Top for a ver.4 PS2. Now everytime I put in a PS2 back up and swap magic discs, there is loud grinding noises and therefore leads me to believe that it may be the reason why some of my discs arn't being read correctly. I have also tried putting in a normal PS2 game disc and it worked flawlessly. Did i make a mistake somewhere when i installed my flip top? I'm totally clueless as to why the grinding noises would occur only on back ups and not on the actual ps2 games.

any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

sorry for double posting.

I would just like to add, the back-ups and swap magic discs worked fine a few days ago, but now it just stopped working. I'm using verbatim for my back-ups btw.

and now i find the edit button...

One thing that I have noticed is that the laser is jumping up and down and hitting the discs. could this be because of bad media? but if this were true why would it do the same with the swap magic discs.

im thinking of recalibrating the laser, but would this affect my original games? my original games play just fine but the back-ups and swap magic are not.

Now the PS2 is showing up with Disc read errors a lot when i put in a ps2 backup an even swap magic discs. i already cleaned the laser too btw.

UPDATE -
I managed to get the discs to stop skipping. it was the stupid little white circle thing on top of the tray. i yanked it off and put it stright on the disc (since it has the magnet thing it worked just the same), but my swap magics arnt loading up perfectly everytime is this the same with all swap magic? or did i manage to damage it? before the fix it loaded at about a 30% rate. at the fix it loads at about 70% so more than half the time.

UPDATE 2 -
I think i fixed most of the problems on my PS2. I still need some advice on how to get the laser from hitting my swap discs every time I use them.
