Not a noob, can I rebuild a PSX ISO to remove CDDA and decrease PSP eboot.pbp filesize?

I've been rebuilding PS2 ISOs for a while now, ripping files out, shrinking and etc to fit more on my PS2's hard drive w/HDloader. I'm not new to a lot of this crap...

I've been converting PSX games to work on my PSP without problems... but I'm sick of using 500 megs of space on my memory stick for some games just because they have a ton of CD audio.

Logic told me to just rip the data track as a .bin file (I used ISO buster)... but thus far the games i've tried have just frozen before their title screen; Wipeout 1 and Wipeout XL, both NTSC-U/C. I had previously converted them with their CDDA in-tact without any problems, the games played fine...

Would there be some way to patch the game so it ignored the CDDA? I can't justify all that wasted space.

if it's of any significance, I tried to boot a CDR burn of the full disc image on a physical playstation with both a boot disc and the swap method, and it froze in the exact same spot as on my PSP when I had removed the CDDA; yet the very same burned disc works fine when loaded in a PSX emulator.

If anyone has any kind of insight, it would be greatly appreciated... (as would any info if someone knows how to get the PAL versions of WO1 and WO2097 working on PSP too :P hahaha)

Figured it out; also the PAL versions work for some reason- they weren't before when I tried them the first time. Not gonna complain.
