Hi gang...sorry...I know, it's been discussed a thousand times...but i've got this new problem, and just can't seem to fix it... :(
Well, for quite a while now I had no problems with utorrent, then, a few days ago, my internet provider had a small crash, I had to reset my dsl modem, and forgot all about that i'd have to redo it again, with port forwarding etc. Well, I tried, all of the last days, tried all, but to no avail..
I followed this guide:
http://www.portforward.com/english/route...ME/Utorrent.htm
But first I forwarded a port. Did that by going to the command port, wrote these numbers down:
IP addy: 192.168.1.2
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.248
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS server: 192.168.1.1
I used this guide:
http://corz.org/comms/hardware/router/static.ip.address.php
and then had the following values:
Use the following IP address:
IP number: 192.168.1.3
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.1.1
use the following dns server addresses:
prefered dns server: 192.168.1.1
alternate..........: 212.159.11.150
After having done that, I went to my modem/router, did all the steps accordingly to this guide:
http://www.portforward.com/english/route...ME/Utorrent.htm
and had this in the end:

Now, I went to utorrent, went to the connections and named the port: 22500.
No green light...
what to do??
thanks everbody..

Try disabling UPnP at options>preferences>connection. I'd also doublecheck my port in utorrent and my IP address at Command Prompt just in case.

What about a firewall, make sure utorrent is an exception in any you use including Windows. Is that a modem/router combo, if not, check at PortForward for your modem in case it contains a firewall.

That list doesn't show them all, what is your ISP, someone may know. Have you set a static ip address if you're using a router? Have you checked at PortForward in case your modem needs forwarding too? Just a guess but utorrent gave me a red light on a port check and on downloads but was wrong and both changed to green after some weeks. On a speed test, what download speed does it show and make sure the kb or kB is correct. This Linux d/l should give you good speeds, let it run about 20 minutes: http://linuxtracker.org/ (at top) and let me know what utorrent shows..

Got it fixed. Had to set port forwarding also on my Vonage device which both my modem and router connect to.

Solved!
As I stated above, my internet provider had a small crash, I couldn't log on to the net anymore at all, so I called them, and they gave me a temporary log-in address, the log-in name that you have to write in your modem or router, whatever it's called, that enables you to access the net. Anyway, I changed that temporary log-in name now back to my standard one, and now when I go to utorrent, well, the light is greeeen!!
I wanna thank you very much again Mistycat. :)
