Game saves on a DSTT

I'm quite new to this sort of thing, but I can't seem to figure out how to get a game save I downloaded to work on my DSTT. I re-named the file from .duc to .sav and changed the file name to match that of the ROM since it was different but it doesn't seem to work.

I'm not very technical, but when I used to play ROMs on a GBA emulator this was all I needed to do, am I missing something?
