It never used to happen before but now whenever I move my mouse the screen blinks and then freezes blinks and freezes etc. and lines and stuff on the computer show up. Is the problem the graphics card? i have been having some geometric tearing before when playing games but everytime i checked the temp it was fine going at 40-45 degrees.

Please help,

just for extra info my graphics driver is fully updated.

Also another problem, I added a new harddrive and when I do happen to get thru the start up screen and log in I cant see it under My Computer. It is the primary slave drive.

For the screen blink, it sounds like a faulty graphics card - possibly the RAM rather than the core. You should never experience those sort of issues at the desktop.
For the hard disk, you need to go to disk management (right click my computer, Manage) then format the drive. You may also need to initialise it first.
