i bought the swap magic 3.6 discs, with the magic keys. got the keys installed correctly, as far as i know. i went off a picture faq. its a slim ps2. only part i had a question on was the last piece with the arm, that fits in the spring. is it supposed to make your lid lift up a little when you close it? it still closes completely, but its lifted in the back where that piece is. please look at my pics-
heres the slim, with the magic keys installed:
regular dvd movies work fine. when i tried to load up my stella deus backup, it said 'not a valid ps2 disc'. not sure why. burned successfully with img burn. no issues in that area. using JVCDVD+R discs, brand new. using pioneer 11 drive. this is the first ps2 backup ive made tho. i dont know if its just bad media. i havent used JVC discs before. i dont have any verbatims to try. i just want to make sure im doing the process correctly. if somebody can look over my intallation and confirm everythings in the right spot, thatll be one less thing to verify. i use the swap magic dvd disc, then it says 'insert bigger toc disc' and as soon as i place my backup in the ps2, message comes up saying 'not a valid ps2 disc'
The same thing happened to me earlier a while back. Instead of using a magic key for the bottom right sensor, I rolled up a piece of tissue and stuck it in. (You can remove it with a pin or needle later) It covered the sensor completely and it worked.
well, somebody told me that if i leave my lid open and press power, and the dvd doesnt spin, then that piece in the back isnt installed correctly. and i tried that just now. the dvd didnt spin at all. does that mean the back part isnt in the right place?
