After finding an excellent guide right here on adding subtitles, my very first try was a success.
However, it would be better if I could just 'lift' the subtitles on a widescreen Pal format. Presently, they are a bit low.

I see two options on the subtitle converter. One says 'up' and the other is 'pixels to edge'.

Can someone please tell me if the selection of 'UP' will do the trick or if I need to also change the pixel reading.(Or BOTH).

What would be the optimum pixel height?

All help greatly appreciated.

Don't know which filter you are using.
I use this setup.
The first picture is set as '40' the second '60'.

Thank you very much.
This is more information than I could have hoped for.
I will now study the details and get to work

If the original file is .SRT, use 'SRT to SSA Converter' - you can select the subtitle position.

The only other tool I know that will edit the position in an existing .SSA file is 'Sub Resync'.
It's one of the tools included with 'VOBSUB'.
