Game Title: Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
Game Region: NTSC
Media Make: Sony
Media ID: Sony DVD-R
Disk max speed: 8x
Speed of burning: 2x
PS2 Modification: CogSwapLoader+Slide card
PS2 Version: The fat type
Game acquired: Downloaded
Rebuilded: Yes
Rebuild Software: WinRAR
Burning Software: ImgBurn

Problem:
The game loads, except after the beginning title displays of "konami" and "kojima productions" the screen becomes black forever, already wasted like a million dvds testing burning speeds or rebuilding software...what am i doing wrong? SOLVED

NEW Problem:
I got pretty far in the game, however at one point, i saved the game file and then the next day i wanted to play it but after doing the cogswap process with cogswaploader, it said "Please insert a formatted PS2 or PS1 disc.." this is when i was trying to load my save file...has this ever happened before to anyone??? btw this problem never occurred throughout the game up to this point...

How did you rebuild the game, and how did you know it needed to be rebuilt?

Have you tried burning at 4x? What is the media ID of your blank DVD?

I use Sony DVD-R, the downloaded file was those ".001,.002,.003" file types and I manually opened one of them with WinRAR to create a ISO file. Then I used Imgburn to burn ISO at both 2x and 4x. The files on the backup seem like any other backup files, and i managed to get the few titles running...i assume the opening movie is supposed to start after the titles...

it's possible that cogswaploader can't load it. not sure on compatability, so someone correct me if i'm wrong.

since you have a fat ps2, might i suggest the memory card exploit? you'll need a cheating device with usb support (ARMAX recommended), the network adapter, an original psx game, and a IDE hdd.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

Problem solved, everything works, its just that you had to press x or start after the titles disappear, then it would take you to the main screen and henceforth...sry for any inconvenience
