I have some relatives coming to the US from India. I just wanted to know if this or any other modchip for the PS2 is available in India before I send my relatives on a wild goose chase searching for a modchip they can bring here for me.

Don't think your relatives will have much luck. Even amazon doesn't ship stuff to India. :( It looks like consolesource does (from link you gave), I've never bought from them though.

You can get it shipped to the states from canada. Just place your order over at modchipcentral.com, cheaper too.;)

No, I asked because I wanted one of my relatives to buy it from India from a store.

Oh, you mean like up front? Like going to your regular supermarket and getting an apple (replaced with Memor32)?

Yea. I remember when I went about 5 years ago I went to a video game store where they modded consoles for you. Just wanted to know if those places are still around and if you could buy these things from there.

Nice. That would be pretty sweet to have around here (in the states), though it would have to be on the low low.

Sorry I couldn't be of any assistance.

Sorry, should have been more clear. When I went to India 5 years ago. I've never seen a store like that in the US. Damn copyright laws!

Dude I remember when I went to Mexico like 2 years ago. There was like 3 arcades in the town square. All of them had consoles (xbox/xbox 360/ps2 main ones), modded of course.

The people who ran the arcades had it all set up. Kids would choose a game to play off a wall that had boxart on it. Then kids would have to keep paying 5 pesos (roughly 50¢) for every 20 min of play time. After 20 min the TV's that were hooked up would turn off. That is until you payed up.

They even had MAME machines preloaded with hundreds of games.
Yep, times were at least better before that raid a while back...
