First a little info. I have a Vista OS, my speed isnt that great only 300 kbs. upload , or thats what it tested at and i did test more than once. Now, my problem, i am using utorrent for my p2p dl's. I have foward a port through my wirless g router F5D7230-4, which is made by belkin. i followed the forwardport.com directions. I have also set up a static ip. address correctly through the wireless router. I also made sure that the firewall was letting it through. Now i thought mabye it was the other router that the phone company gave me. which is a speedstream from windstream which is my ISP. Im sorry, I think its a modem. Anyway, but then i got to thinking, the internet runs into my wireless g router and then to the modem, and from the modem to my wifes desktop. So i shouldnt have to foward a port through the modem too should I? Now that all thats said, my utorrent is still telling me that i have no incoming conections with the little yellow yeild sign at the bottom, and to top it off, when i test my port to see if its fowarded correctly its says that its not opened correctly. Like i said in the subject title for this thread, i have looked in all kinds of forums and i have never posted a thread yet. So im gonna post this one, i have been looking for 3 hours this morning and all night last night until i couldnt see the screen anymore. So please, Im begging you. If you can help me at all, please help me. Thank You.
Oh yeah, sorry. I forgot to mention a little about what my utorrent was performing with dl's. For example, right now i am dl'ing the chronicals of narnia which has (seeds: 35 of 228 connected and 414 in swarm) (peers: 25 of 777 connected 572 in swarm) Im only dl'ing at 11 kb/s. Which i think at my speeds that is to be expected. But i still cant get the yellow sign to go away. thank you
I think it is in the latest version of utorrent but ensure that UPnP is disabled at options>preferences>connection. Also, disable randomize port and use a port over 10,000. Set Protocol Encyrption: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/395674 Not port related but set your upload speed at options>speed guide>connection type, utorrent will automatically set it to around 80% of kB for you.
