Hello,
After reading many posts from your forum and not being able to find a solution to my problem I decided asking. Sorry if it has been solved in the past.

Anytime I try to rip the subtitles from a DVD I always get them with wrong timing. I tried two ways:
-PCGDemux to get the sup
-Vobsub Configure to get the idx+sub

Let me show a sample of what I get and what I should get:
Wrong timing, what I get:
[quote}
699
01:32:37,652 --> 01:32:39,925
blah

700
01:33:03,745 --> 01:33:07,780
blah

701
01:33:08,149 --> 01:33:10,490
blah
Some subtitles I found via google wich timing is perfect for my DVD...just convert to sup and rebuid >_<:

blah

701
01:33:02,566 --> 01:33:04,898
blah
It's very odd...two different ways resulting into the same error...and it's like that all the time. I have added custom subs 8 times so far and the problem is always the same...I end up downloading subs made from someone else and inserting my own lines.

I really hope yo can help me.

Regards!!

Try using 'DVDSubEdit' on the ripped files.
Run DVDSubEdit, load the VOB files.
Select the desired substream and click 'Run OCR' - then click 'Save as .srt'.
The program has a very good, automatic OCR feature that seems to be accurate.

I have found that if I use DVD Shrink to reauthor (clip frames) and save a DVD, then use VOBSub to get an .idx file, the times reflect the original timing - not the edited times.
I don't know why this happens, or if it's confined to NTSC DVD files.
