Hey

I was using my computer the other day, everything was going fine, I turned it off, and few hours later I tried to turn it back on.

Then I was prompted with a message about NVIDIA Boot Agent. The full message is:

Quote:
Verifying DMI Pool Data
Boot from CD:
Boot from CD:

NVIDIA Boot Agent 201.0462

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting NVIDIA Boot Agent

I have no disks in my drives yet I still get prompted with this? I have attempted to change boot order from BIOS but still no luck :(

Is there any solution to this other then formatting?

Thanks

Does your hard drive show up in your BIOS?

The PXE error is the computer trying to boot from the network adapter. If there is no cable connected to your computer that is the error you will get. I would suggest you check the cables to the hard drive and system board, they may be lose. Check in the bios to make sure that the hard drive is selected as a boot device.

To be honest, it sounds like the hard drive may be a bit dodgy. Your best bet is to back up what's on it and ghost it to another drive.
