Hello, yes it is a legit copy. I have a sony vaio vgn fs515b laptop. I installed a genuine upgrade of XP PROFESSIONAL onto XP home edition and subsequently downloaded service pack 3 which was grand. But windows is updating all the time and i downloaded these updates but when i click to install it comes but with the updates failed to install. Everything on the laptop is legit and registered with microsoft. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I had issues aswell and turned out to be a theme I had installed (windowblinds) so I uninstalled and I was ready for updates.
If you dont have any type of themes/icon changer installed then we will try somthing else.

Usual windowblinds has an installer for themes and icons. I havnt had windowblinds for a while but did you change any icons to make them different? such as trashcan and so forth?
Just an example, I had tuneup utilities 2008 and that app had an option to change icons, anyways when i wanted to update to SP3 it wouldn't allow me due to windowblinds and tuneup because of themes and icons. well I uninstalled both but I still had the icons, so i had to re-install tuneup and revert back to default icons, then i was able to update to SP3.
