Is there a way to stop Guitar Hero 3 from freezing during cutscenes when playing from a hard drive?

Whenever I select Guitar Hero III from HDLoaderELF's menu, I have to rapidly push the start button in order to skip the cutscenes at the beginning (they display the companies that worked on this) in order to prevent it from locking up.

Also, there seems to be intermittent instability throughout the game... when switching from menu to menu, the game sometimes locks up.

I'm pretty sure it's not the hardware, because the other games I have on the hard drive work fine.

If there's anything else you need to know to help me, let me know, and I'll tell you. Thanks in advance for any and all helpful advice.
