i have recently bought a thrustmaster firestorm dual power 3 joypad and it just won't rumble. it IS a rumbling joypad and also has drivers with it. i installed them, tried the vibration test utility which refused to start, (no errors just nothing), i tried a few games which supported rumble. no response. i tried the latest drivers which also didn't work so went back to the ones on cd because it has a test utility.

the buttons all work, it just doesnt wanna rumble. Tomb raider legend and anniversary detect the joypad but have the vibration field greyed out if that helps. project64 finds rumble supported but doesn't rumble. unreal tournament 2004 has vibration set to pickups, shooting, car effects and getting hit but no rumble felt.

i have xp sp2 tried latest driverrs and cd drivers.

directx 9.0c - in dxdiag (direct input), its detected gamepad and has a file under force feedback and the others (which don't support rumble) have n/a

all drivers working in device manager

if it helps, anniversary and legend detect "thrustmaster firestorm dual power 4" with the cd drivers and "thrustmaster vibrating gamepad" with latest drivers.

should only have one feedback driver as it appears to automatically remove other drivers when i install the latter driver whichever that may be (cd or latest)

tried restart pc

tried removing, inserting gamepad

bought new boxed

If it was bought new from a shop, send it back for another to verify it's not the controller at fault, it probably will be.

OK, the problem's with the drivers then, it's being picked up as a default pad, not specifically the Thrustmaster. How are you installing the drivers, through 'add hardware' or using a wizard?

the only option i have is double click, next, next, next, finish and then it is meant to auto pick em up. there is no *.inf so that i can install through add new hardware.

so its wizard...

its being a real bum...its meant to be a five second thing according to reviews, it probably was when computers where 100 tonnes and black and white monitor display

thanks for trying to help, im looking on driverguide for a better driver. i can't belive a commercial company produces shit drivers

Aha, oh really? I can, it happens all the time. Graphics manufacturers are the worst.

well its a good thing i stick to one graphics driver then :P

this is the worst though i mean how can i bypass windows' automatic driver setup and let the installed drivers roll? its all exe thrustmaster drivers with no inf file this is appauling. the day drivers have no inf file is the day they aren't even drivers
