I am wondering what is the best dvd-rom READER for dvd+rw media, this is for playback not ripping, which drive has the best error correction?

No. I was just saying I had an opinion.

If you're just playing DVDs and not ripping it doesn't make a whole lot of difference since DVDs are read at low speed when playing them.

The 166 is a most excellent DVD ROM that excels at just about any reading task you'd want. Plus they're cheap :)

I hope the all-caps was unintended and that you're not shouting at me.

Yes. The 166 will read +R/RW. Here's a link to the specs:

not at all, just had the caps lock on, am trying to make a stable sigma decoder based dvd player with dvi output that plays back dvd+rw media back reliably, and you are the first person that responded, so my sincerest thanks, thats why the best error correction is my number 1 priority.
