NDSTT firmware problems

I was having problems with all my games freezing so decided to format my memory card and download the latest NDSTT firmware.
After trying to switch my DS on however, the 'menu?' sign appeared - the one that comes up when you haven't downloaded the firmware properly.

I know I did it properly - click and drag the files (not exactly rocket science) and I had done it before, anyway.

I am totally stumped as to why it is happening and am tired of trawling through the internet for answers....please help me someone!

you sure memory card formatted properly?
