I have a new Dell SATA equiped motherboard,HDD and two Lite-on Sata optical drives. One a DH 16A6S and a newer LH-20A1S. Is there some setting I'm missing with Sata drives? I have an LG USB external that is workimng properly with the set up. I'm getting error messages like "synchronize cache failed" or "no additional sense information." I though I had a conflicting install. I reset the HDD with Norton ghost to last week when I first unpacked pc. I installed anyDVD and Clone DVD and they would not close to where they would play in stand alone DVD players.No error messages were given and clone said the disc burn was a success. Nero recode 6.0 does work properly and closes the discs but Nero express does not. I've tried TY T02s, verbatim16X and OD branded ritek all +r discs and I have accumulated a wonderful varied collection of coasters. I'll install DVD Fab Platinum tomorrow and try it again. Anybody have any ideas? OS is XP Pro is there a big difference in just XP? My old dell XP P4 and ide drives Benq1650s worked everytime and rarely made a coaster even on the fly. This has been ground hog week as I'm back to where I was last Saturday. LMAO HELP

Hi :-)
It sounds more like corrupted links rather than any h/w related thing.
For some s/w to work, surely rules out h/w problems.
Try AWC Personal (it's free).
Check it out. It not only removes stuff, but repairs things like broken/misplaced links etc.

You could update to latest f/w for your drives.
The LH-20A1S in particular benefits from a f/w update.

@zebadee

I can't for the life of me get CloneDVD to work. It will not close a disc properly for AnyDVD too recognize and list it's contents.I've gone back to previous version with no luck. I've got latest firmware for the new LH-20A1S thanks to cincyrob.This is a new SATA pc and I ghosted back(their software installed on nepc.) With the set upout of the box I installed just latest versions of AnyDVD and CloneDVD. Roxio 10DE came preinstalled. With only those two programs installed on a fresh pc, I cannot get CloneDVD to write a playable disc with two Lite-on internal DVD-RW drives. Pretty depressing. I finally have Nero working with both drives and DVDFab-Platinum works as long as you set it to burn with Nero Burning Rom-their VSO engine will not work either. The discs are burning but not finalizing properly.I thought I'd be smart and get a new SATA set up with XP pro before Vista was the only option-that 4 year old Dell sitting back there with 2 1650BenQ sitting in it has burned countless (all+Rs)TY-T02s, VerbX16 or ritet or Ricohjapan Office depot discs with never a coaster with onlt 512MB ram-I have 2GB now and a fast pc that can't burn a DVD.LMAO Thanks for anyhelp I love your products.

I have solved the problem and it lies with Power DVD 7DX installed and runs on start up along with AnyDVD which is in conflict. Most programs were not closing the disc properly with Power DVD running in conjuntion with burner programs . Some work barely. But once I diasabled start up of power DVD all programs are working.
