First, play those backups in your pc,and use the dvd-rw that produced it,to play it. Make sure it plays them.
Second, test on other stand alone players.
If you used a stand alone tv recorder, make sure it has been finalized or made compatable so other drives can read them.
If you know those backups will play on any other drive or pc,then most likely a compatability issue with your media.
Dvd backups are harder for some drives to read. There's the formats of plus and dash. Then the different types of media like R,RW,RDL,Minidvd.
R media is easier to read. RW and R-DL media can be trickier for stand alone players. When compatability issues arrise, picky drives will display some sort of no disc error.
These messages can say:
No disc
Illegal Disc
Dirty Disc
Wrong Region
Wrong format.
You're using 8x and 4x media in 3 different brand names:
1)What format are you using? Plus or Dash.
2)Are all 3 RW's?
3)What's the brand name, model #,and current firmware version of your dvd-rw drive?
If all 3 types of media is the same format, switch to the opposite.
Try R media if all your media is RW. RW is nice to practice with, but can be harder for some drives to read.
To help ease the stand alone player compatability issues, booktype the plus format media to Dvd-rom. It's also called Bitsetting. Not all drives have this capability,so post back the answers to my questions.
It could still be a dozen other culprits, but switching format usually works. Just make sure all your drives can handle the format that you are using. Whatever you're on now,it's not working.
