DVD burner HELP!!!

Hey guys, sorry if this is posted else where but i've searched and couldn't find it.

Basically i'm looking for a dvd burner to backup my PS2 games. My slim ps2 is all setup for playing my backups and i've successfully made my backups using my friend's sony viao laptop, but now am looking for my own dvd burner.

any recommendations on which ones to buy? i'm looking for an external one to plug to my laptop. i'll also be using the dvd burner to bakup my docs and pics as well as my dvd collection (want to be able to play by dvd backup on my ps2 rather than an avi file on the laptop).

My medium of choice is verbatim dvd-r though i've heard dvd+r is better dues to booktyping, any thought?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can recommend this burner. As for +R/-R I would say stick with -R. Most people have better success with -R's as they are more compatible.
