DGEN 1.70 lite for slim need some help with this!!!!

i downloaded the DGEN 1.70 lite on my slim(ihave CFW 3.71m33-2)ican get the emulator to start but when i try loading the roms it loads for about half a second and nothing happens. i want to play my favorite genesis games so i would appreciate some help here. thank you.

Change the .gen at the end of the name to .bin.

it did not work. again, it only loads for half a second and then nothing happens
