Hi, i am new in this comp thing. i have just build my computer
Here is the spec
Intel Quad Duo Q6600@2.4Ghz
Intel Desktop Board DX38BT
Kingston Hyper-X DDR3 1Gbx2
Stock Collers
Gigabyte 450 true power
Asus 8500GT
80gb(int)500gb(ext)
Samsung DVD writer 20*20*20
Samsung "19"WLCD
Edifier 2.1 R401
just wish to ask is the power supply enough because when i use the Intel® Desktop Control Center the CPU voltage is in marginal status... is this becoz of the power supply?
And also must i change the cpu cooler to an aftermarket product,if yes what do i get but does not burn a hole in my pocket.... as for now i am using 1 front 120mm, 2x 120mm side and 1 rear 120mm fan from CM which does not have a strong flow. My system temp is 38-42 always, is this a good temp or must i get a water cooling device?

your power supply is fine you dont need more power. also you dont need a new cpu cooler unless you want to overclock.
ps-you should edit your sig so it only has five lines, forum rules.

That's probably because the CPU voltage has been lowered automatically by the motherboard. Unless you get stability problems I wouldn't worry about it. Your system temp is fine. I rarely recommend watercooling for any situation, certainly for a low power PC like this.

Wait, does that motherboard even support DDR3? Isn't it a X38?

Why wouldn't X38 support DDR3? The P35C-DS3R board does... As far as I can tell though, the OP's board only supports DDR2.

The P35C-DS3R has a P35 chipset, not a X38

and? If the P35 can support it, why can't the X38? I'm genuinely curious...

Oh yea, I totally forgot about the P5E3 and the Maximus Extreme - I thought they both used the x48 for some reason.

yea water cooling isnt something the average user does. just grab a fan or two if you are concerned about heat dissipation.

Well exactly, I use very low speed 'ultra silent' case fans in my PC and I still run them at 7V of the potential 12. I have no cooling problems.
