I recently got a new sony viao laptop...after a few days everytime i would log on to the internet...it would always try to connect to a webpage..which when it does connect it says it not found...or ill get a creidit card ad or a antisaywareexpert ad..sometimes ads come up when i first log on to the internet...i have mcafee from comcast..and i tried maleware bytes removal software...it dectects 3 trojans....

i seleceted remove and it said they were removed...but when i went and did a scan agian...they were still there...how and what can i use to get those ads to go away?

please post a hjt log to see what other removal apps might be needed to get you cleaned up.

download HJTInstall.exe

* Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
* Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
* By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
* Click on Install.
* It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
* Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
* Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
* Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" and Paste the entire contents of the log in your reply.

I Have tried adware removal, spy-bot, trojan killer....i even tried going into the registry to remove what some found as trjoans but no luck it keeps coming back...arrrggg! I also tried adware away...it gave me these files as bad..

we will try this first:

Download combofix from one of these links and save it to your Desktop:

http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log.

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze.

Hi SR5380.

I just have one question: Have you ran your antimalware programs in safe mode? It may help because safe mode will disable the malware running, does disallowing the replacement of the infected registry keys.

Your problem also sounds like a rootkit one, as no infected files are found, only registry keys which keep getting replaced. Please also download GMER, and then post the log here.
