I recently decided to throw a 500gb into my xbox. I got the hard drive up and running but I see the size of the F drive is about 469 gb. I have no idea what bios I have and why it is throwing all the space into the F drive. I figured that is probably not good? Should I create a G drive or just leave it? Also I transferred a bunch of my backups from one hard drive to the next and a handful boot to a blank screen and the xbox freezes. Does anyonoe know why this happens? Thanks

I dont really see the need to add any extra partitions to the HDD, although some people like to to keep it more organized. As for the unusual freezing problem, that could be several things. You could have corrupt data as a result from the transfer, or there could be files missing from the games root directories. such as (F:\Games\Burnout\data....) You get the idea. Best thing to do is, load the backup game data on a pc and compare the file content first, eliminating any missing files issues. Then if nothing shows up, i would just rip the game back over to the HDD, and see if that solves a possible corruption issue. Also I would run any new HDD through an error checking program to make sure it is in complete working order. Post back with any progress you make so I can help you further if need be.

Thanks for the reply. I read up and realized that i forgot to delete the cache files in E:Cache when I transferred the E: folder to the new HD. That cleared up a bunch of my problems with games and emulators. With regards to the partition I figured I don't need a G: and there is nothing wrong with having everything in F (fingers crossed).
