Now the keys act weird, sometimes they are fine and other times I can't even type anything. What is the best way to clean a keyboard after a spill?

Well, at least you did it with a nice tasting beverage... ;-)

If the keyboard comes out and also apart you should be able to clean the plastic sheet underneath the keys, a damp cloth would probably be best, and then use a dry cloth to dry it.

So should I use the links ddp gave me and follow the instructions sammoris said? I'm kinda confused because I looked at the diagrams and I didn't see a plastic sheet thing o.o

the plastic sheet is actually mylar & is 2 layers at least thick in the keyboard itself. is there a bunch of screws on the bottom of the keyboard holding it together or black plastic melted spots all over the bottom of the keyboard?

you could take the keyboard completely off the laptop and immerse it in a bowl of warm washing up water then leave it for a few days to dry off ( airing cupboard is good)
we use an air compresser to get 99% of the water off then leave it a couple of days to dry
mostly this works sometimes it has to be a new keyboard but they are not terribly expensive
