I have an issue with my computer!

When I switch the main power switch on the PSU off and back on again and I start my comp. it won't boot only when I redo it and it comes with an error report with the following "Over clocking fails, please enter and reset your system". As far as I am concerned I did not over clocked my system at all.

I have set the CMOS jumper several to set back to default setting I took even the system battery out but the same problem occurs time by time!

I went through the BIOS setting and it seemed to me that everything is set to auto however I recognised that some setting option are appears on screen differently as it showed on the mobo's manual. I do not know if it is OK or not!

When I was first time setting up the BIOS I have looked through what option would give the system to me if I was trying over clocking it. But I think I set everything back to default.

Could anyone advise me what I should do!!!!

Thanks

You might have a dodgy BIOS battery - try changing it. If no luck, you might want to RMA the motherboard.

Return merchandise authorisation - basically means to take it back to the shop for replacement, in layman's terms.

The term 'second opinion' comes to mind... Some companies will be surprisingly reluctant to accept faulty goods. Of course it may not be the problem, but it could be. WHat power supply unit are you using?

Hmm, there have been a lot of reports of instability with these units, you might want to try changing that.

I got back my unit they say everithing is fine I just have to update my BIOS. I have done that before! I did again but my comp. still does strange tings. Sometimes boot at the first power on somtimes I have to power on two or three time till it boot! I do not know what is it! Is there anything to do with the hardware or it is the OS.

I highly doubt a BIOS upgrade would be necessary on that board, I would recommend getting them to replace the board, whether they say it's faulty or not.

Usually they still will for a small restocking fee - it's what I have to do when shops won't acknowledge there's something wrong with a product.

Suspected as much... Very rarely do shops see a faulty item and actually recognise it to be faulty, they're absolute pains about that.
