For years and years I have been trying to maintain a collection of cartoons on which my wife has worked. The oldest ones were digitized from video tapes, and the newest ones are digitized from a MotorolaDVR. In both cases, a fairly old Canopus PCI Card (model 50, I think) were used to capture via composite.
While I would greatly appreciate it if someone corrects me, I am under the belief that as these episodes come out on DVD, I would be far better to try to rip those, and replace the episodes I have from VCR or DVR with the one encoded on the DVD.
With this, I would appreciate any recommendations as to a program which would allow me to rip a specific episode off of a multi-episode dvd, and turn it into an AVI or something that I can use in premiere and/or encore. Since this whole exercise is to buy me better quality, I would like to find a program which would allow me to rip to a format which would then not be too degraded, and would allow me to edit in premiere and import into encore.
