I have 3.90 M33-3 loaded on a fat PSP. After some trail and error I finally was able to play iso files. However, emulators and video I have never been able to figure out. I also have another PSP that has OEM firmware and can play video from PSP Video 9 just fine.

My first question is what settings on either the PSP or PSP Video 9 do I need to verify?

My second question is that just a couple of minutes ago I was able to finally get MAME loaded onto. I loaded MHpspmame4.9. Is there anything I should be aware of since this is the only MAME emulator that I have gotten to work on my CFW PSP? If I continue to have success I would like to add a NEO GEO emulator to the mix.

Thanks.

for the iso games try changing the UMD mode to np9660. Dont use PSP Video 9 cuz they ask u firmware do u have when installin. Use a different converter.

i think the reason ur other emu didnt work becuase u didnt put the 1.50 addon

Thanks. I don't think that I was very clear. I can play iso games. You helped me in the past with that issue.

I do have the 1.50 add on but I may not be using it correctly. How to I load the software into onto the MS? For example, if I download an emu and upzip it do I move the top level folder onto the MS or do I cut and paste the folder contents onto the MS?

What are your suggestions for video conversion?

Thanks.

it depends on ur emu. If it is a 3.XX game kenral game then put it in the GAME380 folder. For 1.50 kernal put it on the GAME150. Most likely when u download a emu and it has two folders with the % it is mostly goin to be 1.50 kernal games. For 3.XX there should only be one folder.

If u want, tell me what emu u want. I'll tell u how to install it

Im not in the vid part ... so i dont know for sure. I just a simple app called 3gp conveter. I know a guy who may help you.

This is the guide i use for the 3gp

Thanks. I sent 07anto07 a PM. It sounds like he is a busy guy.

As far as the EMUs are concerned. Now that I have MAME running I can most of the old school coin-op games. I have a MAME box at home so it is nice to bring the same games on the road.

The other EMUs I would like to set-up are NEO GEO and CPS.

Thanks again for the help.

07anto07, thanks for the offer to help.

I have two fat PSPs. One has OEM 3.90 firmware and the other has 3.90 M33-2 firmware. I believe that I am looking at two issues.

The first one would be one reliable program to convert videos for both PSPs. A majority of my source files are in XViD format.

The second is that I do not think my settings are correct on my custom firmware PSP because I have never gotten a converted video to work. I am almost certain that it is user error.

Thank you.

hi sorry for the late reply was in work, ok use my guide that mrgooey linked up follow the guide starting at the 3gp it will convert your xvid to mp4 format for both psp's when you have the single mp4 file put that into your video folder on the psp this will work on custom or non custom psp's, on your custom psp press the select button scroll down to umd mode press x till m33 drive comes up the scroll to exit.

No problem on the time. I really appreciate you taking the time to work with me.

I will try to convert using your guide. If I read it correctly you do not need to move the .thm file over? Also, on both firmware PSPs do I still put the file in the MP_ROOT\100MNV01 folder?

Thank you.

hi that is correct the .thm file does not need to be moved over the mp4 file should work on the official firmware psp in the mp_root\100mnv01 folder, if that does not work there right click on your mouse and cut the file then go to the root of the psp and place it into the video folder and on your custom one the mp4 will go into the video folder on the main menu of the psp,

also if your putting the mp4 file into MP_ROOT\100MNV01 make sure it's not going inside the video folder that is inside that.

It works. Great. Thanks for the help. I guess I was also moving the .thm in the past and that was honking everything up.

Yes, you were right.

As I ease deeper into the homebrew pool my confidence is improving. Thank you.

I can now enjoy my PSP on my upcoming trip. During the trip I will work on getting some other EMUs working.
