Hello,

I am using DVDSHRINK and selected the Re-Author Process. I went ahead and removed some of the Chapters that I didn't want.

When playing back the DVD I am no longer able to use Chapter skip up or down, nor I am able to use the DVD Menu ???

What did I do wrong ?????

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

When you re-author with Shrink, the original menu structure is lost.

Frank,

Thanks....

So there is no way that I can change chapters either without fastfowarding ???

I thought that maybe there was some kind of re-build index option ???

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,
You can use TMPGEnc DVD author to create a new menu. Heres the guide:
http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/tmpgenc-dvd-author.htm

This program has a 30 day free trial.

Cutting out chapters and keeping a menu is not as easy as one would first think, but it can be done.

I was over at the Doom9 site and saw something about using IFOEdit to do this, but its over my head.

I want to remove the WARNING SIGN in a movie using DVDShrink.

Can someone tell me specifically how to do this?

Thanks = Cajun

Using the Re-author option instead of Full Disk in shrink allows you to select various files to include in your DVD. The FBI Warning is is Title 3 for the current movie on my computer. It may be a different file in yours, but you can find it by previewing each file. Simply drag the files you want into the DVD Structure Folder (left side of the display) and preview by clicking on the play button below. When you find the FBI warning file, right-click on it and select cut.

It may be different for different movies. If the DVD is already on your hard drive, you can preview the files unitl you find it. Merely delete it and create a new IFO file iwth IFOEdit.

Oriphus,

I don't know anything about the IFO file. Why would you want to create a new one after deleting the FBI warning?

You may not need to, but with a navigation file it will have a list of things it does, ie: it navigates to the first production company screen, then it goes to a new screen, then maybe to the DVD FBI warning. If that screen is missing and the navigation file hasnt been told, it may get confused, or it may just play on anyway and skip to the next one. I like to re-create the navigation files anytime i manually delete a fiel after DeCSS (ripping ot the hard drive)

Thanks for the good explanation. That's interesting and something I'll have to learn more about in the near future.
