Nero Vision Dragging MP4 video to storyboard error

My Camcorder records files in an MP4 format which play fine on Nero, but when i try to compile them and "Make a Movie" with nero vision i drag them to the story board and it changes them to a picture still 10 seconds in length. Should i have to convert them to a differnt format for the Movie Maker to recognise them as video rather than picture???? Please help - i am a nero novice..... Paul

isnt the picture that shows the menu link that will appear in the end result dvd menu, which is set to play that button for 10 seconds on your tv screen? on clicking this picture/button with the dvd player remote control the video will play fully?

what happens is when i add the MP4 files to the "Display Media" in the top right corner of "Nero Vision Movie Maker" and then try to add or drag and drop some of these MP4 files to the "Story Board" it only displays them as a 10 second still of the first from of the file even if the mp4 video file is say 30 seconds in length. If i try and add other format videos it adds them to the story board fine. I just cant understand why the MP4 files change to what Nero describes as a "Picture Still"

hmm so all other files are seen, and only mp4 ares set at 10 secs, are your mp4 avi files?

do you have the codecs installed for these?

Yes all other files play fine on the story board preview player, however the MP4 files just make a photo picture of the first frame of the file. I think i must have the codec installed as the same MP4 files play fine through Nero showtime, just not through the story board preview player when inserting them to make a movie.

drop the file in gspot see what it says for codecs
