Camcorder for somewhere around $500?

Hello. I'm a piano teacher and I'd like to invest in a camcorder for recording my lessons; they will be distributed on the internet, and perhaps on DVD.

I'm not sure if I should go with SD or HD, and what the benefits would be if going for HD. My budget is around $500, but I'd like to keep it to $800 at the very most. If HD isn't that much more expensive, then sure -- I'll go with HD.

Is there any 'standard' camcorder in SD or HD that is 'hot' at the moment that I should look into? I'm looking at anything up to $800 here.
