Macbook (XP) external monitor, resolution issue???

I am having a problem using my 24" westinghouse L2410nm 1900x1200 monitor. I am using a macbook with an xp partition. I bought the Apple Mini dvi to vga cord and it worked fine. I was able to use it as my primary monitor and also use it as a desktop extender. The laptop screen would be set at 1280x800 and the external monitor at 1920x1200. It all worked fine, but now for some reason my monitor is showing a resolution of 1600x1200 and really blurry/crappy. But I have the setting on the display in xp set to 1920x1200. Also, if I choose any other resolution other than that my monitor goes blacka nd says change resolution to 1920x1200. Any suggestions. I installed the latest firmware, intel 945...
