The XMB it´s usually called, whatever that means. However I find it clunky. For example, if you have a lot of games and other programs on your memorycard it takes forever to flicker through the icons and that is really becoming a nuisance for me.
Preferably it would start when the psp boots up. Seems to me that such a thing could be done. Correct me if I´m wrong.
Yeah, another thing. Multitasking. For example listening to internet-radio while playing a game with the radio-sound replacing the game's music track. I really would like that.
Is it possible? Has it been done? Any good examples of such?

You can redesign the XMB using themes, but it would still be essentially Sony's XMB (stands for Xross Menu Bar btw) with a different layout.
The only program i know of that is a totally different Menu system is IRshell. It is a redesigned XMB, but it also give you loads more advanced options. IRshell is also capable of multi-tasking, so you can play music in-game, however i am not sure about playing Internet Radio.
have a look around the forum for a guide.
hope that helps.
EDIT: Typo

the multitasking thing.. Try iRShell , just google it. With it you can :
Listen to music while playing cso , using internet browser etc.. Mute game audio and listen to mp3's..
EDIT - Oops , you said about iRshell..

NervOS looks really promising. With wi-fi capability it will be perfect. IR-shell feels a bit dated IMHO. But the login.thing of NervOS is really annoying. Is there an easy way to get rid of that?
Oh by the way Dr1ver, thanks for the link to the theme-page.

Actually I asked them yesterday about the login-window at Pirata Nervos site. They referred to the userguide in the wiki. Had totally missed that one.
Basically you just go to configuration in NervOS by pressing start when you are in the program. Then you just disable the login option.

Did either of you get any errors when trying to run NervOS?
I can install it and log in, but it gives me an error saying Core Files Missing. I googled for a solution, but they all seem to talk about an error log, which i cannot view untill i can get into the system.
Any help appreciated.

i dont know how i found this out but you have to install the norvOS and then go back to the installer and go fix system files (the one bellow install nervOS) and that fixed it for me because i kept getting the same problem all the system prx didnt get installed.

Thanks for the info.
i've just been playing around with it for the last half hour or so and still cant get it sorted, so just going to stick with the XMB i think.
I really like that theme though Dr1ver...going to install that tomorrow i think :)
