currently using window vista and last time i misopened a .psp file with notepad, now i dont know how to change to .elf from .psp because the the rename only shows [data] but not [data.psp], so i cannot rename it to [data.elf], what should i do??
Thanks for helping me out.
I know it is a noob problem, but i cant solve at all, please give some feedback.Thanks.

right ill try my best to answer your question but i not sure what it is that your trying to do you cant just change the file extention from .psp to .elf and it to be used on another program as its still coded to the .psp format.
you will need to use some kind of converter to get it to elf from psp
if you do want to change the file extention on vista do this
open Documents
go to organize (top left)
then go to folder and search options
then go to view when the new window pops up
then go down to "hide extention for known file types"
tick it off and you can now change the file extentions
if you trying to edit the source code then you cant do it through the .elf file its already compiled so you'd have to find a way of uncompiling it or use hex to menipulate it. i thought filer came with the source code anyway.
hope that helps out with what your trying to do

right i think i get what your trying to do now. y'd u want to lanch filer from pandoras i have no idea.
reading the one from max console it said that you will need the full 1.50 set files in the kd folder the only program that i know of that does this is upms so you'll need to use that to make the mms if you havnt already.
then i dont know about the program that you need to boot the elf files but you need to make a folder called elf in the root of the memory stick and the put it there.
just follow what i said above to rename the .psp to .elf (didnt know they where the same format. so read throught that thread on maxconsole and it should help.
hope that helps

Well the method you mentioned works perfectly. Thanks
Btw, are you telling me that only psp phat can launch the filer?
Or slim can launch that by using UPMS?

now im not 100% sure here but you could lanch it from slim by using the eboot from the kernel version (3.XX) that would mean you wouldnt need the 1.50 kd files but the 3.XX kd files which would allow you to boot it of a slim.
but the kernel verion is limeted to what it can do no flash0 flash1 or ram copying/cuting editing e.t.c so i can see the point of doing that. what would be a better thing for slim would to find the recovery menu and to be able to boot that from pandoras then you could edit the flash0 and flash1.

Thats right, my problem is that I can't get my PSP to turn off. I bought it from craigslist and I got screwed over. So the problem is the PSP does not respond when I try to turn it off. I dont mean in game, I mean anytime.
SO I take the battery out. I put it back in and then, well... It wont turn on. sigh.
So I come back like 2 days later, and some how the PSP decides to work again. It turns on, cool. I turn it off, hooray.
BUT AGAIN after a few on-and-ffs, the PSP will start the cycle again and not turn off. I have no choice but to take the battery out, then it wont turn on, give it a few days, it turns on. Restart cycle.
Does anyone have a clue what I can do to fix it?

Can you try turning on & off with AC supply without battery?
If u have no problem with this, it may be your battery problem.
Im not so sure about your prob, hope these will help.
