Well to start off I have a PSP-Phat with custom firmware 3.80 M33-5.
I have wanted to put psx games onto my psp for a while now but the whole process was with confussion with me.
I want to know what is the best and recent way of converting the psx games and how to get them onto the psp and play them. I also have had trouble of understanding how to get multi disc games such as MGS1 on as i have read there is a certain way.
Please i am very confussed and want the best and current user friendly way of doing this all. THANKYOU!

Hi.
See HERE for a guide i wrote on converting single disk PS1 games using a program called ICETEA.
See HERE for my other guide for converting multi-disk games (such as MGS).
Hope they help, post back with any further questions.

Ok, to start off i am trying to rip MGS1, i did everthing you said to do in the tutourial about multi-discs and the eboot was created. I put on my PSP in directory PSP/GAME and it wouldn't show up so i added it to directory PSP/GAME/MGS1 and it showed up. It starts to play but the audio echoes and jumps around. Is there anyway to fix this? And also is there any other way and user friendly to convert the games, i am afraid i will forget the whole process later on. Thanks.

Ok, i still cannot get it too work. The pops version i currently have is 3.80 version 2. And I have been looking at PSX2PSP for conversion, it seems alot easier then the way ibizagti but i am not too sure on how this works with multidisc games. I am very confused.

Why didn't you/don't you take the time and look at the link I gave you? It tells you the best pops to use for the game and provides links on converting....time to stop posting and start reading.

Because Sony makes changes most of the time they release new firmware.. therefore some versions of pops work better for game x then others.

Question about the compatability list you linked, i am looking at MGS1 and it doesn't say anything about what poploader to use, in the notes it says 3.90 by 2PS. Do you know what this means

That means the default pops that is used when your firmware is 3.90m33 will work. 2PS is just the dude that contributed the info. According to the wiki, you can either
a)Upgrade your outdated firmware to 3.90m33-3 and give MGS a try
b)Use http://www.gamerspress.com/index.php?title=Popstation_md to make a combined eboot
I have never played MGS nor plan too, so I appologize, beyond this information I really do not know much about getting that game to work on the psp.
If you need a pops pack that contains all the files from 3.00 to 3.72, larrylje uploaded them, and here they are. Simply put them in the seplugins folder. http://www.mediafire.com/?9o1umxelsz1
