I have checked all the posts but I cannot get a 1080pmkv to fit on a DVD9 disc. Using the TsMuxer guide, http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/...nd_blu-ray.cfm, it always outputs to over 8gb. The file has ac3 audio. Do I need to convert this first or is there something I can do to shrink the original mkv? Thanks
lol, a dvd9 is 9.4gb, a dvd5 is 4.7gb, hence (dvd -5/9)
If you want to, convert it to wmv, and then split the file in two, and put it in two different dvd5's

Thanks for the reply but you will not get anywhere near 9.4gb on a DVD9. The most I have seen is about 8.2gb. I have seen plenty of 1080p AVCHD's about but they are always between 7.5 and 8.0gb. Just wondering how they have been done?

what dvd player are you trying to play it in?
and what program are you using to convert it, ive never seen a program that converts HDMKV files to dvd
Is the codech.264?, if it is, then just extract the raw files, (h.264 and ac3), and encode them to two dvd's using a dvd authroing software

PS3 - converting 264 to acvhd. TSMuxer is great and fast! but I cannot work out how to keep a 1080p source below 8125 gb (to fit on a Dual Layer). I used ripbot264 and that works but it is sooo slow. Even using a quad core PC with 4gig memory.

Recoding a 9gb h264 movie to fit on a 8152mb DL disc should take anywhere from 5-15 hours on a quad core. 10-15 if two passes.
