I have a Gateway MX6450 Laptop with an AMD Turion CPU, ATI Video. I just formatted it with Windows Media Center which is what it was shipped with. I have found all the drivers except the Wireless Driver(Onboard) and the Audio Driver(Onboard) I need these 2 drivers. They are NOT Realtek AC97 Audio drivers or Conexant as Gateway says. These FAIL to install. I can not find the Wirless driver even at Gateway's weird site. If anyone has a link for these that will sucessfully install I would be very thankful!
If I can't find it soon, I will try, but if Gateway wants to charge me $ for drivers for their Laptop, I won't pay. It isn't even my Laptop, I am getting it fixed up for a friend. I hope to talk to Him tomorrow & see if he has restore disc/discs that may have the drivers. Thanks!
Figures, right after I post I figure out a work around! I'll post what I did here though, as it may help others.
not me got it from google 1. Install Realtek Audio driver (WDM_A380 or WDM_A381, doesn't matter).
2. Reboot
3. Download and try to install the Conexant AC 97 audio driver. You can get the one from Gateway (D00245-001-001 driver), or any other manufacturer that uses this chip in the notebook. Pay attention to where it stores the files. For instance the Gateway driver uncompresses to c:\cabs\directory name.
4. Go to device manager, find the Realtek AC 97 audio item under "Sound, video, and game controllers". Right click on it and select UPDATE DRIVER
5. Select NO if it asks to connect to Windows Update, click NEXT
6. Select "Install from a list of specific location" and click NEXT
7. Select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" and click NEXT
8. DE-select "Show compatible Hardware". CONEXANT should show up under manufacturer since you tried to install the driver earlier.
9. Click on CONEXANT on the left, then select "Conexant AC-Link Audio" on the right and click NEXT
The driver will install. It may ask you for the location of some files, point it to the directory the Conexant driver uncompressed to in step 3.
Reboot, and you should have working audio!

I was able to find the Wireless driver for the broadcom integrated LAN from DELL! Isn't that crazy?
