I need help getting cheat codes onto gpSP

I donwloaded gpSP Kai 3.2 test 8.5

And i also have a Pokemon Ruby ROM that works on it.

I've looked at a few guides on how to get the cheat codes on there but it's just not working for me,

I got this code..

PAR_V3(M)

PAR_V3 Rare Candy in PC
280ea266 88a62e5c

And i saved the notepad document under the same name as the ROM with the .cht extension, and put it in the CHT folder

But when i load up the ROM the code is no where to be found.

Please help me!!! Thank you!

i think that you also have to put the cheat while running the game...
you go into the menu and i think that theres somewhere in there where you have to type the cheat to enable it in the game....
but then again im not completely sure
