Emule doesn't use .torrent files. Emule is on a network called ed2k, and uses ed2k links. The term ed2k is an acronym for EDonkey2000, the original client on that network. The primary site for ed2k links is sharereactor.com. I can already tell you that you need to always leave it on, and until you use it heavily for a month and always leave it on and uploading, you will probably not see speeds comparable to BT, as BT can be pretty quick for popular files. However, the quality of the releases on the network is superb, and there is a far broader variety of files available. If you do try eMule for a few weeks and still aren't satisfied with speed, you could also try Overnet, which is serverless, and can be more forgiving at times, though it isn't quite as good for extremely rare files. Another ed2k client I haven't tried that is in beta right now is Kamedlia, the serverless eMule. The network is very content rich, you just need to find the client that gives you the best speed, I suppose. Good Luck!

alrite, i am using a router so some one posted a way to make a direct port to the router so hopefully that will make my connection for emule faster. also about bit torrent experiment and it downloads rather slow, is there any other clients i can use to download them which will make them go faster?

Well, they all pretty much work the same way; If you want to increase your download speed, the best thing you can do is max out your upload speed. I use the experimental client and I dial my u/l down from the max just a couple kB's so web browsing speed isn't affected (saturating your u/l speed slows your max d/l speed a bit.) Just u/l full bore, or close to it, and you will be maximizing your connection. Also, try to select files with lots of seeds and leechers if possible; like I said, BT is great for popular files.
