not sure exactly where to put this thread so apologies if its in the wrong section
I'm running windows xp home edition with sp3 installed but previously had sp2 when problems started recently I've been having problems when i switch users without unlogging another user the newly logged on person does not fully log on and freezes, and usually the only way to remidy this is to shut down then log onto that person I decided to try to repair windows but that has now caused more problems because when i started the install from my mesh recovery disc. 1 it does'nt give me the option to repair but then told me that i had a problem with dtscsi.sys which I resolved by removing Daemon tools but when I tried installing windows it gets to a point shuts windows down and when it reboots it gives me 2 choices windows xp home edition or windows setup ,if i choose windows setup i then get a message saying that it can't find m5829.sys and then reboots and unless i'm quick enough to change the boot options to windows xp home it just keeps trying to reboot could somebody give me any ideas to get it back to a straight boot to windows xp home without the options and then I 'll try fixing the other problem of the logon as I've a feeling it may have something to do with my av software which is virgin's pc guard as windows doesnt see this and tells me my av software is turned off even though it works and for a while worked fine
