So many issues requiring resolution of countless other issues before even understanding if I the hotfix is worthwhile installing.
The article says (reading between the hype) 'the hotfix's updated driver enables you to stream DV data from a host computer to a device to thereafter enable MPEG2TS captures in "USB Isochronous MPEG2
transport" streams (from the device to the host computer)'.
Okay, so MPEG2TS's needless hype for MPEG-2 Transport (as opposed to MPEG-2 Program) but stating what the driver does in that manner only exemplifies the fact that article's writer is no doubt our typical 'higher educated' 3rd world post-graduate who would only seem to be oblivious to the fact that needless redundancy in writing only fills up space, likelier than not, leads to confusion and thereby that sort of tack lends to assuring job security, I can get behind that.
But how is it that us common folk determine whether or not the hotfix is needed as opposed to if it's not and/or if the thing does or doesn't contain undisclosed behaviour and/or undisclosed executables (i.e.; like MS did with their farmed out SDS 2.0 created by some California based Russian sounding named company that hexed us being locked out of our system restore points, each month when 2.0 is updated)?
Anyone out there know why us ignorant commoners might need this driver and/or what all's really in the hotfix?
I mean, it might be nice to know that the thing actually has some usefulness and is safe to install, ref. the fact that the MPEG-2 Transport format creates larger files than MPEG-2 Program, is well suited for streaming, is capable of storing more streams than the MPEG-2 program (up to 1023 streams), but this seems only of benefit to those "streaming" video from satellites or dv cameras.
I just don't know if I need this driver as the only thing I can conceive my using it for (then seems a waste of storage space in using the MPEG2 transport format, as opposed to simply streaming in MPEG-2P (MPEG-2 Program, aka DVD format), e.g.; my potential plans to store video from my multi-processor (four surveillance cameras on it's split screen)?
