Is it worth the price difference to get Premiums over Valueline? I've been buying Premiums, and dont have a problem with them. But I can get an extra pack of 100 for only 10 bucks difference. SO what I'm asking, is if there is any real differnce?

there's really NO difference. out of the 600 pack i bought last time i got them i think i had maybe 3 or 4 bad disc.so you may have just a few more bad disc than with the premium line but not enough to justify paying the extra

basically you're paying extra to get the cake-boxes that come with the premium line where as the value line are in tape wrap

Well I was buying the premium line from supermediastore and they only came in the shrink wrap. So today I ordered the value line. It saved me around $34 as I was ordering 300 discs. So I'll let ya know how it goes when they get here.

headcase- I Think you'll be happy with Them ! The only failures I've had with my Valuelines have been when I goofed not the media's fault ! and on the tape wrap/Cake-Box issue You can always recycle your old cake-boxes that your other Media came in when there empty ! That's what I did with mine !!!! Good luck & happy burning !!!!!

I've been using the Valueline's as well. I switch from them, the Premiums, and some MIT Verbatims. Keeps my burner on it's toes. :)

You'll be pretty happy with them, i'm sure.

Just wait for sales and promotions and get the Premium Line. They are still a bargain and there is a difference. It seems odd that everyone wants to tout the superiority of Taiyo Yuden, then recommends buying their second tier/castoffs.

You know a link would have been nice. ;) I had to work so hard to find those... hehehe. j/k buddy. ;)

You can OVER burn those 8x if you want to... well assuming you have a drive that will do the job. ;) In all honesty I wouldn't burn over 12x anyway.. normally the quality is a little better at that speed than 16x+. jm2c there. ;)

I've used a few of the "valueline" discs and NEVER came across a bad disc or burn!!! NOT even from my mistakes IIRC... but I'm sure my memory is too short.. lol.

I've used a few(lol) of the valueline TYs too never a major problem.

supermediastore has the 300 pack at 77.99 shipped this week. most the time they will code out as TYG03s anyway.

Another good reason to avoid the cast offs, I want the TYG02's.

Buying all depends on searching for the best deals. I just found TY's premium cheaper than other sites charge for the value line. I just ordered 100. I'll have to wait a couple of days to see if they really are premium..

@BurningAs

You say you have some sony blanks. If they're +R and 8X then you possibly have a batch of TY T02s the best media ever. Did they have a white octagon spacer on top of the cakebox & were MIJ?!
