Any chance of a helping hand guys? I recently managed to get rid of vundo and trojan by scouring the other threads and taking advantage of the support on offer. My system now appears to be clean however my laptop still appears to be running slow and I was hoping someone could help me decipher my recent hijackthis log as this is the one thing I haven't done anything with as yet
Hopefully this should be a simple enough fix for the geniuses in these forums!!
I am running AVG with superantispyware aswell as ccshredder and ccleaner as suggested. I have switched to firefox browser and changed my firewall from Zonealarm to Comodo.

Hey Rosyuk.
If you've managed to get rid of vundo, congratulations! Not many can get rid of vundo, and have chosen to format instead.
Here, you can remove these entries in your otherwise clean hijackthis log.
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D5E6F7F5-7D38-4B0F-9B80-E4C7BB832C5E} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
However, there are a few things I must remind you of.
1. HijackThis logs usually don't reveal vundo that obviously. Newer variants of vundo are especially tricky, and hijackthis logs may not be able to show anything in an infected system.
2. To scan system infected with vundo, it is probably best to rename hijackthis to something like scannerhjt.exe, as certain variants of vundo can hide themselves in HijackThis's logs when it is named HijackThis.exe.
3. The main problem with vundo is its ability to regenerate itself. You may think that vundo is gone, but in a few days, it may come back. Only time will tell.
4. Another problem with vundo is that it manages to create so many hidden settings that even though the main vundo files are removed for good, the computer may never be the same again, or even be in a compromised situation. The only real solution for that is to study the particular variant of vundo that you are infected with, and be able to reverse all the changes that it has made to your computer.
5. Prevention is the best cure. You also have to study how you got infected with Vundo in the first place, and build up defense against that area. Lightning will strike at the same point more than one time.
Best Regards :D

hello,
Yes, "Only time will tell". Can you help me? What kind of file did you delete?, it may help my research. Good for you!!! I'm her trying to kill the creator. I'm the bounty hunter, A hunter that is also hunted by the creator. Hmmmmm..... What kind of dll did you deleted also? If you have other suspicious file or quarantined file that you or maybe has vundo, Can you send it to me? I will make an analysis. Just copy it! And also can you send me also a copy of your explorer.exe, rundll32, and winlogon. (It is found on your C:\windows\system32) Just send it to me. ***email removed by loco***
You can help my research go further. Maybe I can found a cure about this plague and all this infection.

Ignore edmund.
And edmund, FYI, explorer.exe is located in C:\Windows, not C:\Windows\system32.

Edmund, hate to burst your little bubble over there, but whether or not you obtain a copy of Rosyuk's explorer.exe will have nothing to do with your finding of "him". All explorer.exes are the same, except for when it is infected by either a worm or a virus, and vundo is neither.
