USB installation problem, plz help!!

I bought a USB to USB File Transfer Cable with a installation CD and I installed the software on both my home computer and my laptop. Im trying to transfer my files from one comp to another. Once I finished installing the softwares, I plug in the Cable on both computers, and it says on both computer and my laptop:

"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the device information set or element."

I really dont know what to do so then I reinstall the software again again and again and im still having the same problem,PLEASE HELP TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!
